Mansfield Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) have launched a new website and online community portal to help support community organisations and voluntary groups in the local area.
The new-look website has been created by local web design and online marketing agency SF Media, who have carried out the work completely free of charge.
The working partnership between Mansfield CVS and SF Media came about through the Business Connector programme, which is run by national charity Business in the Community. Their aim is to connect the needs of local communities with the resources and expertise of local businesses in order to “secure a fairer society and a more sustainable future”.
Directors Pete and Jamie from SF Media initially agreed to meet with Mansfield CVS to offer up their time and to advise on how to update their website, but after being humbled by what they saw, the two local entrepreneurs decided to design and build Mansfield CVS a brand new website for free.
They have also pledged to continue to offer training, advice and website hosting – at no cost – for the life of the website, to ensure that Mansfield CVS have the ongoing support they need and to underline their commitment to the local community.
The new website features key information about Mansfield CVS and the community projects they are involved in, as well as an array of online resources for the voluntary sector, a local training and events calendar and voluntary groups directory. The site will act as an online community portal for the voluntary sector, connecting local charities and organisations and giving them a central place to advertise their own news, projects and events.
Speaking after the launch of the new website at the Mansfield CVS AGM, Marketing Co-ordinator Kate Boughton said,
“All of us at MCVS are incredibly grateful to SF Media for our fantastic new website. We really appreciate that they took the time to understand us and our work before building the site, to ensure that it functions exactly as we need it to. It has been a joy to work with them and we want to thank Pete and Jamie for their commitment and ongoing support to us and the voluntary sector.”
Marketing Director at SF Media, Pete Scully added,
“We are delighted to be in a position to help Mansfield CVS and to showcase some of the fantastic work they do locally. Everyone involved with this project has put in a lot of hard work over the past 9 months and we are really pleased with the result. To hear such positive feedback at their AGM makes me very proud and we hope that we have delivered something that MCVS and the voluntary sector of Mansfield as a whole can be proud of too. “
